Prescott in the hot seat

Blair is abroad but insists on handling the Middle East crisis himself. Disgraced Prescott still remains as deputy Prime Minister, despite the two year affair with his secretary, and has been relieved of the majority of his former duties.

So what exactly is the Deputy Prime Minister doing, despite retaining his perks and collecting £134,000 a year?


The job Prescott is entrusted with is advising people on the weather, which reflects the value Blair puts on his contributions. Apparantly he has met with health officials and representatives from the MET office. A Prescott spokesman said: "There has already been one heatwave, so he is satisfying himself that all the plans are in place should there be another."
